But Lewis Hamilton drove like a champion, fighting his way past 7 cars to finish the race in second place.

Lewis Hamilton said:
Today was very emotional.
I was a bit too impatient, which is rare for me.
I just got caught out on the wet patch, and slipped off towards the wall.
The car was standing there for a long time.

Lewis Hamilton said he was grateful to get back into the race again.
He said the incident reminded him of his childhood.
He was a junior go-kart racer.
Because he only had a dodgy old go-kart, he always had to start at the back.
